Stay Motivated this Holiday Season: Join an Exercise Challenge Group

Do you ever feel like you need a challenge to jump start your workouts? Many people do! Try adding a social twist to your exercise routine. Who doesn’t love a healthy dose of competition? You can use a variety of apps or online challenge groups to get extra encouragement and meet your goals.

Some helpful group challenge apps:

  • Map My Run, Map My Walk, Map My Ride, Map My Dog Walk or Map My Fitness
  • Nike Running
  • FitBit app (Tip! You can create a challenge with friends or join the corporate sponsored challenges)


Don’t have family or friends that use these apps? Try joining a Facebook Challenge Group. These are private pages for small groups of friends or family that allow you to check in and keep each other accountable every day. Can’t find one in your area? Train for an upcoming event like a Turkey Trot or a Christmas Dash to keep you focused on your health goals.
