Snack, Tackle, Block: Healthy Food Swaps for the Big Game

Football season is a fun time for family and friends to gather and socialize, and we want you to enjoy every minute!
Unfortunately, football “foods” usually involve pizza, chips, and other less than healthy snacks. Our goal is not to not take away your fun, but to give you some healthy foods you can swap in for your tailgating and football parties!

A few more quick tips for surviving football season:

  • Always choose WHOLE foods, not food products. Skip processed meats and cheeses.
  • Choose grilled or baked rather than fried.
  • Remember to aim for healthy portion sizes!
  • Is your team not doing so well? Avoid standing by the food table and stress eating. Take a walk or throw the football during halftime rather than grazing.
  • Limit liquid calories, such as beer and mixed drinks.

While you’re at it, why not try a couple new healthy recipes?

Hope you enjoy the Big Game!
