Our Approach

Everything we do at True Health is fueled by our deep commitment to helping patients lead healthier lives. We believe that the integration of comprehensive diagnostic testing and personalized health management is the most effective way to respond earlier to the onset of disease. Our collaborative approach can be summed up in three essential steps:

We deliver insight from the very beginning.

True Health understands that managing health must begin with accurate and prompt risk identification. Our proprietary and innovative diagnostic technology empowers medical specialists to detect disease indicators, often earlier than more traditional test methods allow. We offer a robust test menu of 135+ assays that enable early stage diagnosis and monitoring for a spectrum of chronic disease areas, including:

With precise and actionable assessment of cutting-edge markers, clinicians can pinpoint the underlying factors that contribute to chronic disease progression in individual patients, and take action before the onset of disease.

We motivate people to live healthier lives.

At True Health, one of our central goals is to help close the gap in the continuum of patient care. To that end, we offer a health management program focused on helping patients achieve their best health. After patients receive their results, our health and wellness professionals help patients understand their lab report, and work with them one-on-one to build a plan of action that may include information and guidance on nutrition, exercise, medication compliance, and other lifestyle modifications. We reinforce clinician guidelines by encouraging adherence to prescribed treatment plans, monitoring progress, and ultimately helping transform patient lives.

We have the proven power to affect patients’ health.

In a study of over 7,000 patients, an independent health analytics company and researchers at the University of Richmond rigorously tested the ability of our approach to drive positive health and cost outcomes. The results of the study showed that, compared to a matched control group, study patients saw positive health outcomes and desirable shifts in healthcare utilization:5

Clinical Outcomes Improved

41% Reduction in heart attacks

17% Reduction in ischemic strokes

15% Reduction in diabetes complications

Hospital Utilization Declined

21% Reduction in inpatient admissions

6% Decrease in emergency room visits

Healthcare Costs Decreased

13% Reduction in ambulatory

17% Reduction in inpatient costs

19% Reduction in emergency costs

True Health Diagnostics continues to perform the same or substantially similar testing to that which was performed under the study. Data for this group was compared to a group of carefully matched control subjects. Inclusion criteria for the study cohort were: a) evidence of at least 2 advanced testing panels performed as part of routine care, b) one of a set of ICD-9 codes indicating disease risk, and c) continuous healthcare coverage with a benefit plan for 1 year prior to the first advanced test through at least 1 year after. Patients who had also received services from other advanced testing laboratories were excluded. The control cohort consisted of patients who had similar continuous coverage with a benefit plan and at least 2 traditional lipid panels performed, representing a population of patients actively engaged with the healthcare system. Each control subject was matched to a study subject (1:1) based on a large set of demographic, baseline ICD-9 codes, and cost data.
