Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in preparations and posting all required monthly and annual journal entries. The staff accountant should also prepare account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts on the entity assigned. He/she should also prepare trend analysis on expense accounts to assist the financial reporting manager with financial statement preparation. He/she will also be responsible for providing support to True Health Diagnostics’ auditors as required. Finally, the staff accountant may be required to complete special assignments as assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • 0-5 years experience
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • Experience with General Ledger Software; Microsoft Dynamics – Great Plains a significant plus
  • Tax experience a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to extract data from conversations and documents
  • Interpersonal/human relations skills
  • Proficient with statistical and computer productivity software (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.) required
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Under the Supervisor and direction of Management, the Staff Accountant is:

  • Responsible for general accounting functions of the accounting department
  • Prepares journal entries and other workpapers that ultimately support the preparation of the monthly/annual financial statements and external audit
  • Posts general ledger accounting entries
  • Tracks and reconciles balance sheet accounts
  • Analyzes expense accounts, correcting with re-classifications for posting errors
  • Evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization
  • Assists with any need or project in the accounting department
  • Adhere to and uphold all applicable federal and state compliance regulations as well as True Health’s Code of Conduct and Ethical Responsibility, compliance policies and procedures, and applicable healthcare fraud, waste and abuse laws
